Of the current Chinese
national herd 3 million head is currently Holstein Friesian. By 2015
Holstein-Friesians are expected to account for 80 percent of the
national herd or 12 million head. Of relevant interest the number of
Holstein-Friesian cattle in China is expected to triple between 2005
and 2010. This equates to an increase in the number of Holstein-Friesian cattle of more than 1 million head per annum until 2010.
